Ron Stoloff: Endorsed by
the Montgomery County Democratic Committee
I retired after 35 years as a high school teacher and received a BS from Temple University and a MS Beaver/Arcadia. I have been married 26 years and a resident of Blue Bell for 16 years. I volunteer in an organization that provides recycled computers to students and others.
While teaching I was extensively involved in reform movements and applying technology in the classroom.
I think it is key that someone with actual classroom experience be on the Board.
While attending a recent Board meeting I was startled to discover that the Wissahickon School District is investigating the use of Small Learning Communities (SLCs). I found this fascinating: This is what I was involved in for the last 15 years of my career. I was one of the founding members of an SLC. Following that I was a member and then chair of the Restructuring Council in my school as we heard and decided which proposals would be accepted as we moved into Career Centered SLC’s – the very path Wissahickon is pursuing now.
On May 11th I took part in a Candidate Forum sponsored by the Tea Party of Blue Bell. For a report on this Forum, including a video of opening statements, click here.
Here is a follow-up interview on the Lower Gwynedd Ambler Witpain Patch.
I am one of the endorsed Democratic candidates for the Wissahickon School District
The School District is important not only because it sets policy for the Schools but its actions shape our students, affects our property values and sets our taxes.
